What are ingrown toenails?

In-grown nails are usually caused by incorrect cutting and trimming of toenails, poor fitting footwear or socks that are too tight, or general trauma to the toenail. Hereditary factors can also come into play.
How we treat ingrown toenails.
A Nooshki Medical Footcare nurse will visit your home, and perform a foot assessment. A topical freezing as well as antiseptic solution is used to cleanse and prepare the area. The Spicula which is the cause of the pain is then removed with our sterilized medical grade equipment.
Our nurses will then round the edges of the treated nail before applying Onyfix treatment which helps to prevent your ingrown toenail from reoccurring. The nurse will then proceed with completing foot and nail care to rest of your toes and lower limbs.
We provide health teaching and tips about protecting your feet, and specifically the fresh ingrown area with appropriate padding and proper fitting shoes. All teaching info and instructions discussed be provided as a useful handout to help you to keep your feet in a healthy state.

Onyfix is a similar material to dental resin, that hardens under a blue light.
